Statements and Ask: screen review

Every screen we plan to change, drawn as it is today and as proposed, so we can agree the direction before building. Nothing here is built. The web portal does everything by itself, and nobody needs WhatsApp to use it. All names and figures are sample data based on the Amara demo.

Back to the click-through

1. One button: Upload

Statements, bills or photos, one file or many. We sort them and show what we found straight away. Amara never has to decide what kind of file it is.

2. Less to read, fewer places to go

Home shows what we need and nothing else. Accounting words become plain ones. Screens with nothing useful yet stay out of the way.

3. The accountant sees it all

Everything Amara uploads reaches the accountant without hunting. Ask helps when something happens, like a new bill, and never changes the books.

Questions we need answered

  1. Should a statement add transactions straight away, with the accountant checking afterwards? We've assumed yes, as sign-up already does.
  2. Which banks and card issuers should we read first? We need real sample statements, with personal details removed.
  3. Do your banks send password-protected PDFs? If so, we should add a password step to the Add statement window.
  4. Will owners write to Ask in Sinhala, Tamil or a mix with English?
  5. Think of the last client who sent you statements. What did they worry about?
